Our Story: Woman-Owned Fresh Pasta on City Road

Details
Bigoli is a woman-owned fresh pasta shop at 123 City Road, two minutes from Old Street station and a short walk from Shoreditch. It started with one question from our founder, Olcay: why doesn't London have pasta like this?
It started in Italy
Olcay travelled to Italy again and again, and every time she came home thinking about the pasta. Not just how it tasted, but how Italians cook it: simply, freshly, with real care. Back in London she kept asking the same thing. Why doesn't this city get pasta of that quality?
Ingredients from Italy
She decided to do it properly. Instead of buying from local wholesalers, Olcay sources most of our ingredients directly from Italy.
A lot of testing
Then came the experiments, and there were a lot of them. Shapes, sauces, cooking times, until the pasta was right.
Corrado joins the kitchen
To take it the rest of the way, Olcay brought an Italian chef on board. When Corrado joined, the idea became real: the recipes, the sauces, and fresh pasta extruded on site every morning.
Good pasta, for everyone
Olcay believes great pasta shouldn't only belong to Michelin-star restaurants. So Bigoli is quick: pick your shape, pick your sauce, and it is cooked to order in minutes. Good pasta, made properly, at a counter price from £7.90.
City Road
Olcay opened the first Bigoli with her husband at 123 City Road, by the Old Street roundabout. Eat in, take it away, or order on Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
The people behind Bigoli
Olcay, founder. The reason Bigoli exists.
Corrado, Italian chef. The reason it tastes the way it does.
