The reason most quick lunches near Old Street are cold or pre-made is that hot food is slow. Fresh pasta is the exception: it cooks in a fraction of the time dried pasta takes, which is why a restaurant-kitchen plate can come out at fast-food speed.
It is the same counter all day. At lunchtime it is somewhere to eat on a break; later on it is simply an Italian restaurant in Old Street that stays open late, until 23:00 on weekdays and midnight on Friday and Saturday.

123 City Road, London EC1V 1JB — on City Road just north of Old Street roundabout, two minutes from Old Street station and a short walk from the south end of Shoreditch. You reach us before Moorfields Eye Hospital, not after it.
Can I take it away?
Yes. Eat in at the counter or take it back to the desk, same price either way.
Can I order ahead?
Call 020 3838 2015 and we will have it boxed for when you arrive. There is no online ordering — every plate is cooked when it is ordered, so it is made after you ask, not before.
Is there a vegan option?
Four of them: Pomodoro e Basilico, Arrabbiata, Aglio Olio Peperoncino and the Vegetarian sauce, plus focaccia. Parmesan is always served on the side.
Do you deliver to the office?
Deliveroo and Uber Eats deliver from us, at their own prices. For a whole team, order catering direct instead — we can invoice the company and the food comes from ten minutes away rather than across London.
