An Italian restaurant in Old Street
Fresh pasta in minutes
Bigoli is an Italian restaurant on City Road, two minutes from Old Street station and just north of the roundabout. The pasta is extruded here every morning, the sauces are made in our own kitchen, and every plate goes into the water after you order it. Nothing is frozen, nothing is reheated and nothing sits under a heat lamp.
It is counter service rather than table service, so there is nothing to book: order at the till, then eat in or take it away. Open until 23:00 on weekdays and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Collection
No minimum, any size. Counter prices from £7.90. Two minutes from Old Street station.

Deliveroo and Uber Eats set their own prices, higher than the counter, and their own minimums.
What kind of Italian restaurant this is
Fresh pasta made on the premises, cooked to order
The pasta is made in the shop rather than bought in, and that one decision shapes everything else about how the kitchen runs — what we can offer, how quickly a plate reaches you, and why the menu is built around sauces and shapes rather than fixed dishes.
Made here every morning
Semolina, water and a brass die
Durum wheat semolina and water go through a brass die before the doors open and come out as six shapes: penne, rigatoni, spaghetti, fusilli, bigoli and fettuccine. They then sit raw until somebody at the counter asks for them.
Made in our own kitchen
Sauces, not jars
Sixteen sauces made in-house on the same premises, with no additives and no preservatives, split the way the counter menu splits them: tomatoey and creamy.
Made after you order
Every plate cooked to order
Fresh pasta cooks in a fraction of the time dried pasta takes, so it goes into the water once you have ordered rather than sitting in a tray. Nothing is frozen and nothing is reheated.

Frequently asked
Where is Bigoli?
123 City Road, London EC1V 1JB. We are on City Road just north of the Old Street roundabout, two minutes from Old Street station, behind a red shopfront with a striped awning.
Do I need to book a table?
No, and there is nothing to book — it is counter service. Order at the till, then sit down inside or take it away. If you are feeding a whole team, order catering instead so the kitchen can plan for it.
Is the pasta really made on the premises?
Yes. Durum wheat semolina and water go through a brass die in the shop every morning and come out as six shapes. The sauces are made in-house on the same premises, and every plate is cooked once you order it.
Do you have vegan and gluten-free options?
Four sauces are vegan: Pomodoro e Basilico, Arrabbiata, Aglio Olio Peperoncino and the Vegetarian. Gluten-free penne is cooked in separate water, but the kitchen also handles gluten, nuts, dairy, egg and crustaceans, so it is not a gluten-free kitchen and we cannot guarantee any dish is free from any allergen.
How much is a plate of pasta?
At the counter, pasta runs from £7.90 to £12.90 depending on the sauce, with an X-Large portion £2 more. Deliveroo and Uber Eats set their own prices, which are higher than the counter.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Thursday and Sunday, 11:00 to 23:00. Friday and Saturday, 11:00 to midnight.
Can I get it delivered around Old Street or Shoreditch?
Deliveroo and Uber Eats both deliver from us. For an office order, book catering direct instead — we can invoice your company and the food travels from City Road rather than across London.
Can you cater an office lunch?
Yes. Build a bulk pre-order on the catering page and we will ring you back to confirm it and agree the price. Collection has no minimum; delivery is for orders of £150 and over.
