Rigatoni is one of the six fresh pasta shapes we make at Bigoli Fresh Pasta: wider and ridged, the shape for heavy meat sauces. We make it at 123 City Road, London EC1V 1JB, by the Old Street roundabout, a short walk from Shoreditch.
Which of our sauces suit rigatoni
Any sauce works with any shape, and choosing a shape is no extra charge. Rigatoni is the one for meat sauces. These tomato-based sauces on our menu contain meat:
- Dello Chef: Italian beef meatballs in a tomato and basil sauce. Rigatoni and bigoli hold a sauce like this one best.
- Bolognese: beef ragù and tomato sauce.
- Salsiccia: fresh Italian pork sausage ragù, tomato sauce, garlic and parsley.
- Amatriciana: pancetta, chilli, tomato, Pecorino Romano and onion.
- Chicken Arrabbiata: chicken, spicy tomato sauce, parsley, chilli and garlic.

Made from durum wheat semolina and water
Our rigatoni is extruded on site every morning from durum wheat semolina and water, pushed through a brass die in the shop before the doors open. There is no egg in the dough. None of this pasta is dried, frozen or bought in. The sauces are made in-house, and every plate is cooked to order, ready in minutes.
How to order rigatoni
Come to the counter and say the sauce first and the shape second. Pasta is from £7.90 at the counter, and an X-Large portion is £2 more. Eat in or take it away; there is nothing to book. We are open Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11:00 to 23:00, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and we take orders right up to closing time. You can also call us on 020 3838 2015. For delivery, use Deliveroo or Uber Eats, which set their own prices, higher than the counter.

Can I have rigatoni with a creamy sauce?
Yes. Any sauce works with any shape, at no extra charge. For cream and pesto sauces, fusilli and fettuccine hold them best.
Is your rigatoni vegan?
Our fresh pasta is vegan (durum wheat semolina and water, no egg). Pair it with a vegan sauce: ask our team.
Can I buy fresh rigatoni to cook at home?
We sell uncooked fresh pasta to take home. Ask our team at the counter.
